Remembering our fallen friends:

  • Former Contest Board Chairman - Arnold Stefan Rosario
  • "On Sunday, July 18, 2010 of Upper Marlboro MD.  Cherished and beloved husband of
Carol Crabtree; loving son of Dr. Arnulfo Sison Rosario and the late Carol Jean Young
Rosario; adored brother of Eric (Lynda) and Brian (Elizabeth) Rosario and the late Mark
Rosario.  Also survived by his sister-in-law Kathy Rosario; nieces and nephews Brandon,
Allana, Alexis, Christian, Braden and little Brian Rosario." --  Washington Post

Friend of the Club - Lawrence W. Knobbe Jr.
"Lawrence, 88, of Stevensville, passed away at Hospice of Queen Anne's in Centerville on
Saturday, June 12, 2010.  Larry is survived by his daughter, Jane Knobbe Hickman and her
husband, Michael Furlong.  He is also survived by family members including Bill and Shirley
Boyd, Ed Boyd, and several nephews and nieces.  Larry was preceded in death by his wife
of 50 years, Marie Boyd Knobbe.  Born May 23, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., Larry moved to
New Jersey in 1948.  After 30 years as an electrician/switchgear operator, he retired to
Stevensville in 1978.  During World War II, he served as an Army paratrooper in the 13th
Airborne Division in Central Europe.  He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and
the Masonic Order in Philadelphia.  Larry was an avid boater and fisherman until he took up
metal detecting in the early 1980's.  Mr. Larry, as he was known to his many friends, served
as president of the Eastern Shore Treasure Club in Stevensville and remained active in the
club until this year.  Through that association, he was called on to hunt for lost jewelry and to
help with police investigations that required volunteers with metal detectors.  Larry could
often be seen hunting on the beach and in the water at Sandy Point and, always with the
landowner's permission, in local farmers' fields.  Among the many things he will be
remembered for are his Club Christmas party punch and his pineapple upside-down cake."
